The secret hair language of the Slirene women

The Slirene women came up with this language as a way to communicate with other women. It was started during a insane king, named Jhaartael Ralomoira, that decided that women were weaker than men. He passed laws that limited what women could do, and who they could speak to. He stripped the queen, Zaleria, of all of her power also. Most of the upper class did not like the insane king and played along. It was the queen Zaleria who came up with the code for the women to communicate with each other but also to the men that were on their side. This secret code also known as the Hair language was used to help work around King Jhaartael and his advisors.   The code worked with how the women put their hair up. Braids, twists, buns each had their own meaning. How they were put together phrases. Then as more plans were being made to get rid of Jhaartael hair accessories were added. The hair Jewels, ribbons, clips and ties were used. Jewels were used to let other conspirators know if they had information. Where the jewels were placed told were they could hand it over. Ribbons became the most important, as they were what the information was passed along with. They ribbons would be embroidered with a message. Wither it was go to the next step, to pause because supposition or if they had been found out. Because of this getting a ladies hair ribbons was seen as a favor.   Queen Zaleria and the other elite women and men were successful in getting rid of Jhaartael and his men. Once that was done the laws that he passed were eliminated. The Hair language fell by the way side for about 100 years until some of the elite women decided to bring it back but more in a playful way. Many of the meanings have been changed but the warning or the needing help messages have been helpful to a few of the women that need help.
