Silk moths

There are moths that are known as silk moths. They are moths that spin silk for building nest, mating, egg sacks, chrysalis. There are three different types that have been found to date. Lightning silk, Fire silk and silk moths.
Lightning silk moths are the most dangerous of all the silk moths. They are mean tempered and are venomous. There are several deaths attributed to them. Those that collect the silk take many precautions to avoid the moths. These moths that are used for the silk are almost exclusively held on farms. Due to the fact that the lightning silk moths live among poisons trees and many predators. People go to such danger because the silk made into clothing is very sought after. It's strong, resistant to lightning magic and water proof, lightweight, and strong.
The Fire silk moths are dangerous but much less so than the lightning silk moths. Fire silk moths only attack if they feel threaten. Their bite is also venomous but much less so. It doesn’t kill but can lead to several days of burning pain at the sight and in the surrounding area. The fire silk moths also spit. It is more of a warning and not much of a concern unless it gets in your eyes it will cause blindness. So those collecting fire silk always wear face shields to protect their eyes. Fire silk moths are both farmed and gathered from their natural habitat. The silk is also highly prized for its resistants to fire magic, water proof, lightweight and strong.
Silk moths are the most docile of the silk moths. Their fur causes burning irritation for a few hours. That only happens if people touch it. These moths are exclusively farmed as they are easy to take care of and it leaves the native population alone. Also the silk is better when it has been farmed which is the only moth that has that difference between farmed and native. None of the other silk moths have that. Silk moth silk is very prized as it is resistant to magic but not as resistant as the other two. It is water proof, more so than fire and lightning. Also like the other it is lightweight and strong.

Growth Rate & Stages

Their life cycle is egg, larva, caterpillar, chrysalis, moth. Eggs are laid by the female after fertilization from the male. 10 days later the larva hatch from the eggs. 20 days later the larva have grown into caterpillar. The caterpillar grows for 40 days before it builds its chrysalis. After 35 days with in the chrysalis the adult moth appears.

Jungles, forest, wetlands and shrub-land is where these are moths are found.

Conservation Status

This species is not under any protection at this time. Many are farmed and breed in captivity leaving the native populations alone.
