Flower Rot

Flower Rot is a disease that only affects females, whether they are Shifter, Elven, or Half and in between the ages of 100-200. Common symptoms -Blisters on the feet and hands. -Rash in the shape of flowers. -Overall ache and pain. Less Common symptoms -Swelling of the eyes -loss of feeling in the hands. Rare symptoms Headaches Blisters on the legs mostly all along the back.   Flower Rot starts with a blister on a hand or foot accompanied with a flower rash on the back. As the illness progresses the rash ends up covering most of the body. The blisters stay on the hands and feet, a few have their blisters spread to the back of their legs. In the height of the illness there can also be swelling of the eyes and loss of feeling in the hands. It continues until the blisters and rash disappear. At this time there is no cure for Flower Rot. The only options that Medics have are herbs and medicines to treat the blisters as they burst. Also to lesson the over all pain and itchiness that they have. The infected are told to keep away from the sun and to rest. The medics also suggest to isolate from other females until the last of the blisters have burst, which can take from one week to one month. Flower Rot will clear up on its own in about 3 months if not there is a higher chance for death, mostly from the continually bursting blisters getting infected or the infected scratching and causing infection in the rash.   While It is rare to die from Flower Rot this is not why it is feared. Flower Rot is feared because of while it may not kill it will scar and may disable. The rash and many of the blisters will cause scaring tissue. This can leave one disfigured and shunned by society. In very rare cases it has caused blindness or permanent loss of feeling in hands. The cause of the Flower Rot is also unknown. Towns, cities, villages have been unable to stop outbreaks of it when it appears.  There is a lack of study into Flower Rot at this time as many don't see it necessary as it doesn't kill very many and the outbreaks are only about 1 in 100 years.
