Carriages

Up until 200 years ago the only ways to travel were by horse drawn carriage, walking, horse back by ship on the sea or boat along the rivers. Then Thalia Maqcaryn’s aetheric generator was improved to the point where it was much smaller. The smaller generators are only able to power a small carriage or boat. These smaller aetheric generators have been placed into carriages for the elite, which has turned into the stylish way to get around. These carriages are commonly called wheelless, because instead of using wheels and horses to move they float and use a small aetheric generator. They still have a driver. They can carry up to six people comfortably. The interior is full of cushioned seats with back rests. These seats are covered by the softest fabric available. Colors of the interior are most of the time deep reds, purple or blues. Pipping around the corners usually in a gold cord. Some areas they have open topped carriages but for the most part they are covered and most have a cover for the driver as well. The outside of the carriages are made of purple heart wood, which is only found on Owhua and a few island off the north east of Owhua. Purple heart wood is use not only for it’s beautiful deep rich purple color but it is the best wood to conduct magic. Often the outside of the carriage is decorated in the family colors and crests of the one who owns it. The most lavish and expensive carriage to date is from the Edegestrlins. The inside has the softest seats, with the plush fabric covering the whole interior. The finest fabric for curtains, all in the royal colors of the old Edgestrlins kingdom. The outside the wood has been carved with the many different kingdoms of old crest and protecting animals. This carriage is used in official business for the nation head, or in transporting dignitaries around the nation.
