Great article! This is really an original and horrifying conditions :D I love the twist that the new church forces everyone to rejoice when this happens :p
There is just something that is not very clear, who are those "glassy Effigy-Warriors"? Also, what is the reason the nobility don't think the angels are just their children but transformed? Enlightened or something like that? Rather than dead and the receptacle for something else (which is what I understand is going on)?
Hey AmélieIS, great to hear that you liked the article :D
As for your question, "Effigy-Warriors" are for essentially "glass zombies" that spawn from individuals infected with a particular strain of parasitic glass. They form the backbone of the Empire's army and serve as expendable cannon fodder whose job it is to hold the enemy's troops long enough in one place to allow the Empire's artillery to destroy them. (I really have to write a proper article about them at some time ^_^)
As for while the nobility considers the children as dead...I would say that is due to fact that the "Vitrium" (the parasitic glass I mentioned above) that makes up the bodies of both Angels and Effigies is an incredibly nasty substance.
So it might actually be more correct to say that the nobility "hopes" that their children are actually dead and not trapped in a body made out of this stuff.
Author of Cenorad ; a bleak-dark sandbox of creativity.
Well, this was a horrifying read that I have come to expect from you. The new church coming in and making this a blessing is a particularly nasty twist. Great job!
Thank you, Emy happy to hear that :D
And well to be fair the Church/ Propaganda Ministry is run by the nobility, so they kind of brought this one their own.
