Cencerus

Fragmented into floating islands known as firma, the lands of Cencerus are a perilous place to live. While the great blue expanses between islands of other worlds merely carry a risk of drowning or predation, falling into the oceans is an almost guaranteed demise at the end of a long, terrifying fall into the mists surrounding the foreboding mass of Terra.   For eons, the denizens of each firma lived in nearly complete isolation from each other, travel only being possible by powerful magic few could command. But with the advent of airship technology barely more than a century ago, the once-scattered societies of Cencerus grew to be in constant contact with one another, through trade and diplomacy, and an uneasy peace reigns despite the trials and tribulations since.
