Government
Dragonshade is the seat of the Duke of Dreadburn, who doubles as the mayor and head of the city council. Said council governs daily affairs within Dragonshade.
Defences
Most of Dragonshade is protected by a hefty stone wall; built in recent years to defend against threats from without.
Infrastructure
Dragonshade is home to the busiest port in Astahbel; many ships arrive on the daily to deliver artifacts and goods from across the world -most notably Eyusia- and adventurers looking to cross the Sea of Tempest to Aechoron will be hard-pressed to find a better port to depart from.
A rail station was recently built, too, connecting Dragonshade to the other major cities of Astahbel.
Guilds and Factions
Many factions and guilds have at least a foothold here, but most notable are the Wardens of Steel; their main citadel is located just outside the city proper. Additionally, House Fydea has their main manor located within the Claw ward of the city.
History
Dragonshade began its life as a small port town under a different name, a few hundred years after the calamity. After the establishment of the Federation of Eyusia, the town began to grow very quickly. Five or so centuries ago, the town was under siege by a dragon that made it's lair nearby, putting this lucrative town 'under the shade of the dragon'.
Architecture
Dargonshade's architecture is plain, even a bit crude in the less well-off wards, but does the job and gives the city a unique appeal.
