Zhianshi Life in Polaris

In Polaris, the Zhianshi are the most respected nation, even above Suritrans. Their diplomatic skills, alongside their advanced technology, makes Polaris elites view them as civilized and political equals. The Zhianshi district is full of factories, colleges, and shops, making it one of the best places to live in the city. There is a wide range of wealth, from poor factory workers all the way to elite company owners. The most sought after Zhianshi, however, is the engineers, who hail from Nanping and are paid handsomely for their work both as innovators and as educators.
The rivalries of the homeland still remain within Polaris. Many Zhianshi hold great resentment over the other nations, and seek to dominate the market of the Zhianshi district. Intense competition has formed over the selling of goods, leading to striking divisions between nation territories in the district. Each of these territories compete against each other to grab other territories for themselves. Sabotage is common, and company CEOs participate in trade wars to crush their rivals.
For the average citizen, this is incredibly important, and they will oftentimes be paid by their company to sabotage rival companies. It could even be thought of as competing mafia organizations, which is an apt analogy given how deadly they are. Polarian authorities don’t enforce any punishment for these rivalries, however, because they care much more about maintaining trade and maximizing profits. For them, these rivalries are simply good business. If it gets too extreme, though, the Polarian government can and will shut down entire factories to ensure the safety of Kynoso citizens.
