The Deep Cavern

The Deep Cavern is a single, winding cavern with occasional branches leading to small pocket caverns where villages are strewn. At the very bottom of the cavern was the head of the snake, a massive cavern where the City of Tomes lies. Winding alongside the paths are various waterfalls that connect into each other forming white water rapids that get more intense the further down you go. They finally outpour to the City of Tomes, where they form a single gargantuan lake known as the Reflection Lake. The walls of the caves are filled with glowing auburn moss, and small bonsai-like trees grow from every side to collect the light emitted by the moss.   The deeper parts of the cavern begin to take a distinct shift into a sulfuric yellow stone which is constantly moist due to the waterfall streams & growing humidity near the lake. This part of the cavern is full of dense vines and trees with knotted roots like mangroves. Many parts of the path are knee-deep in muddy water teeming with life. Finally, at the very end, is a single massive waterfall which gives way to the magnificent view of the City of Tomes itself, glowing a comforting sunset orange. It gets this color from the reflection of auburn moss' light off of the lake. This city is built around massive winding stalagmites, with many bridges connecting stalagmites between each other.
