The Carved Caverns

The Carved Caverns are three unique caverns that connect to each other through various narrow tunnels. Each cavern has its own nation and distinct ecosystem, almost like a terrarium.   The first cavern is the Han cavern. It is directly connected to Polaris, and contains a vast jungle that grows on both the top and bottom of the cavern, intertwining in the middle forming a walkable platform of branches and thick, sturdy leaves. All across the cavern are hundreds of unique plants that have intense chemical effects, ranging from hallucinogens to powerful healing ointments. Their civilization has formed a dense network of suburban sprawl connected by dense cities at the base of the cavern, where they have built around wildlife rather than destroying it.   The second cavern is the Wuyue cavern. This is a wide cavern with immense slopes that are terraced for farming. Lakes at the top of these slopes have been funneled through aqueducts to provide constant water for crops like rice and vegetables. In between these slopes are valleys where herds of domesticated ox and many other animals graze, and villages quietly live out their lives. At the center of the cavern is a single massive valley where the capital of Wuyue lies, a massive city with paved stone streets and a grand palace fortified of many different kinds of stone.   The final cavern is the Nanping cavern. It is a mostly-barren cavern with massive deposits of ore, with tunnels of magma flowing around the cavern and occasionally opening into the cave illuminating the entire cave from below. The cave is filled with tiny tunnels where Nanping have mined out ores and built homes in the sides of the walls. They live all across the walls, building massive steel mills designed out of stone which directs magma and uses it to heat up iron to transform into steel.
