Kynosean Life In Polaris

Polarians are the elites of Polaris, its original inhabitants and its leaders. Their cavern is a single massive torus, centered around a truly massive pillar of stone which houses the Promethean Temple, a towering, highly secretive temple that can only be accessed by the Hiereiai, the keepers of Kynoso temples. The Hiereiai are a religious organization which oversees the management, study, and collection of Pantheon Artifacts, which are various artifacts from the Olympus Cavern, the supposed cavern located directly above Kynoso where the Olympian Gods reside. They are the sole archaeologists allowed to hunt for these artifacts, which they search for across the city. These artifacts often contain immense magical power, and as such are kept away from civilian hands. The Hiereiai are largely secretive about their operations, but do maintain the various temples to the pantheon of gods across the city.   Below the Hiereiai are the 100 Senators who rule the city, elected democratically and ruling as a part of a deeply intertwined elite known as the Athenians. This group networks directly with the rulers of all nations, making trade deals and ensuring the continual wealth and prosperity of Polaris. They are no stranger to the underbelly of the city, and in their secretive upper echelon they use their immense wealth to live a life of vice or seek even more power over the city. They play chess with the lives of the inhabitants of the city, controlling the laws to assure their next voting cycle is maintained. The rich businessmen of the city also have a say in this, paying good money for advertisements or to directly buy out the senators.   Finally is the average citizen of Polaris, who live in a constant state of consumption as they seek entertainment in the constantly evolving arts of the city. It is expected to be a polymath of the arts, knowing at least two art forms is expected. As such, Kynoseans are known for their various Guilds, with various guilds for each artform all across the city. They exist for music, pottery, painting, writing, and much more. But above all of them are the largest and most popular guilds, the Theatre Guilds. These combine riveting plays with Ichor Magic to produce stunning visual effects and create props on the fly in improv.
