The Narog Mountain Range
The Narog Mountain range is in the Vlaaderen region. This region is made up of parts of seven countries on the Famgian continent. Although the seven countries keep possession over their land, the region is controlled by the Mining Guild, which delegates control to the Vlaaderen Committee. Made up of delegates from each country and knowledgeable members of the Mining Guild, the committee regulates the mining of the mountains' resources, investigates mining accidents and enforces the Mining Guild's safety regulations and other policies.
Geography
The Narog Mountains sit in the middle of the Famgian continent. The mountains span an area over a thousand miles long from its northernmost parts to its southernmost point, and an area of a little less than a thousand miles from east to west, making it the largest mountain range on Carina. Most, if not all, of the major rivers on the Famgian Continent originate from the mountains including the largest river on Carina, the Samara river.
Fauna & Flora
The Escan Orak Volcano
The Escan Orak Volcano is the largest volcano on Carina and is taller than the largest mountains in the Narog Mountain Range. The volcano sits in the Arenorrian territory of the Vlaaderen region. Although attempts to inhabit the area have been made, all of them were unsuccessful. Despite the land near the volcano being uninhabitable to people, there are select areas beyond the lava flow that are inhabited. The villagers in these areas walk for hours to collect rare spices and other such resources from the volcano area to trade with merchants, who carry the resources to the capital, Incara, for further distribution. The area around the volcano is very lush and flourishing. Covered in young trees, flowers, and thick grasses, the vibrant plant life is marred by the streams of lava that flow almost constantly from the volcano. It is these streams and the occasional eruptions that keep the area from being inhabited and its surrounding resources from being taken advantage of or destroyed altogether.The Evripos Hot Spring
The Evripos Hot Spring is in the Nyronan territory of the Vlaaderen region. The hot spring feeds a collection of ten pools that sit about five miles away from the capital of Nyrona, Valentia. Most of the pools are cool enough for bathing and all of them are safe for drinking. The pools are all within twenty feet of each other and one of the pools waterfalls into the one next to it. Because of its proximity to the capital, the hot spring and its pools are often visited by the royal family and important politicians. Although nothing grows around the spring, animals often visit the area.Natural Resources
The Narog Mountains are plentiful in natural resources coming from it directly and indirectly. Any resources that are mined can generally only be found in these mountains because of how few mountain ranges there are on Carina. Some of the most profitable resources that come from the Narog Mountains are: silver, copper, gold, iron, exotic fruits and spices, and timber. These resources are transported to the coast via the many rivers that originate in the mountains and the Nidaran Pass.
