Magic connections resonate in this world, and while almost all creatures resonate with some force during their live on Carethian, this is due to that fact that however these creatures and life branched off, they produce velisostion, a chemical abundant on Carethian. In most times velisostion is only produced in very small amounts, so most of the times the affect they have on the world around them is very weak. One can say its like the transference of the heat of your palm on a doorknob as you open it, this would not be felt by the next person that touches it, but it is there, for a while at least. Some people and some creatures are like a blow torch starting to melt the metal as soon as it touches them, this is when a person or creature can use magic. This is not really genetic, it is like Albinism. On earth Albinism is a genetic condition where people are born without the usual pigment (color) in their bodies. Their bodies aren't able to make a normal amount of melanin, the chemical that is responsible for eye, skin, and hair color. So most people with albinism have very pale skin, hair, and eyes. Those with magic, it is an overproduction instead of an underproduction. The levels of the chemical velisostion is what determines the resonation one has with the non living life forms of this land. In humans velisostion is produced in the same gland that secretes gonadotropin that is triggered during puberty. So when the brain activates this gland during puberty it aggregates velisostion levels and causes the human to produce even more. Dragons and Cravo are all magic users because their form has been genetically programmed to use velisostion in their growth, so have very high levels.
