The Orji Tree

The Orji tree Grows only in the Salt Forest, or along the sea boards of other states thriving in the salty spray of the sea. Although magic does exist this plant it purely plant based, but are considered a holy tree for those who Fallow the religion of Goddess of the Moons. What makes these trees so alluring is that the trees flowers bloom when its sepals are warm and wet. When a person plucks it and holds them in their hands whisper close to them the combined heat and moisture causes the blooms to bloom in ones hands. It is believed that flower is blooming with the life force you impart as you make the wish upon the flower, be it for a happy marriage, or for your life-forces to be reincarnated at the same so you can find each other again. This bloom is harvested During the Winter solstice for the marriages, and when someone you love dies.
Orji flowers are white, their shapes is curved in such a way as they sometime catch the light of the moon and center that light inward, and so sometimes it will be viewed as if lit from a light within. At certain times, if the viewing conditions are right, whole sections of The Salt Forest can light up. It is supposed to be a lucky day if the Salt Forest is reported to glow during the night. When the townsfolk of the Outpost see this glow, they ring the Celebration bell, and when the bell is heard in Hope Valley and the Outpost you are to wake and kiss someone you want to share this luck with. This kiss is not just between lovers it can be a chaste kiss from mom to daughter. This kiss in not religious in itself just a fun tradition seeped in superstition.
