Description
The Wolfblades are some of the greatest warriors this land has to offer, when only bravery is measured. They are centered in Vilkenhöfer and led by Reichart Tullgast the Third, Vilkenhöfer’s Warlord. They are made up of both lifelong residents of Vilkenhöfer and courageous travelers from afar who made the journey to join their ranks. Their main goal is to kill every eldritch being that stalks across this land. Their motto goes as follows: “To kill is to live.” It was the favorite saying of their founder, Reichart Tullgast the First.
They go on hunting expeditions for almost the year round, only returning to Vilkenhöfer to resupply and recruit new young warriors who either have come of age or settled in since they left. In their ranks are those who wield physical prowess, mastery of the arcane, and those who wield both. Reichart the First leads the charge, his word reaches all on the battlefield, through a system of messengers that flank out and back. There are also twelve commanders, who have authority over their twelve respective sections of over 7,000 warriors each. The warriors not under the authority of the commanders are the elite squadron of over 500 under the direct command of Reichart himself. Within each section, there are more specific chains of command, though I know not their exact details beyond a certain point.
History
Founded in 214 by Riechart Tullgast the First and his twelve commanders, the Wolfblade consisted of only these thirteen warriors. Starting out as nothing more than a traveling band of warriors, they went from settlement to settlement, slaying nearby beasts and gaining acclaim. Soon their ranks grew, and they made families with those they met, and it was no longer safe to be nomadic. They scoured the land, going north into the mountains, and founded Vilkenhöfer in order to keep their families safe. The descendants of Reichart the First and his twelve commanders rule over Vilkenhöfer to this day, though not all of the descendants of the commanders continue to be Wolfblades, preferring the safety of the settlement.
