DescriptionTchernobyl, a formidable fortified settlement just north of Dunagrstel. Tchernobyl's culture is deeply rooted in the traditions of survival and the mystic arts. Its residents have forged a close-knit community, bound by their shared struggles and reliance on powerful magical users to protect and sustain their way of life. Tchernobilians are known for their resilience and unwavering determination to safeguard their homeland.
The settlement's primary focus is on defense and the practice of dark arts, with powerful mages and sorcerers serving as the protectors and caretakers of Tchernobyl. These magical users not only keep the village safe but also ensure its prosperity by harnessing the mystical energies of the surrounding forest. Small marketplaces within Tchernobyl offer enchanted items and relics crafted by these skilled magic wielders, drawing traders and travelers from distant settlements.
Tchernobyl maintains a formidable military presence, with well-trained soldiers and knights who protect the settlement from external eldritch threats. The settlement's leaders, often guided by seers and oracles, make strategic decisions to maintain the village's safety.
Tchernobilians hold a deep spiritual connection with their dead, they honor them in silent rituals by encasing the settlement in a barrier that doesn't let a weep out, One of the only settlements to still have some sort of festival with food, magical entertainment, often with a show of fire and lights and even some Bards come out of their holes and are welcomed during these festivals.
The settlement consists of imposing stone towers and fortifications surrounded by an enchanted barrier that keeps out both natural and eldritch threats. Family bonds are strong, and households often include multiple generations living together. Tchernobyl conducts elaborate magical funerals, where the deceased are sent off with powerful incantations to ensure their journey to the afterlife is secure. This ritual also serves as a form of protection against the Eldritch beasts that roam the Shroud.
Magical wards have been placed throughout the settlement to shield and fortify themselves from the abominations in the shroud. The powerful magic-users of Tchernobyl work tirelessly to keep these wards strong and to protect their settlement from any malevolent forces that might seek to harm it.
