Description Once a revered and brilliant mage, Malachar Verruc was born into a prestigious family of mages and quickly gained popularity as a mage in Limingar. He possessed a natural talent for magic, which he initially used for good in the pursuit of knowledge and power. Malachar was a charismatic leader, known for his mastery of shadowy spells and his deep understanding of advanced transmutations.
As the leader of the Dark Practitioners, Malachar sought to push the boundaries of magical knowledge. His intentions, at first, were to harness the power of the forbidden arts for the greater good, believing that understanding the Dark Arts could help protect Caligone from eldritch threats. Under his guidance, the Dark Practitioners undertook extensive research conducting dangerous experiments using eldritch flesh, blood, and bone, in hopes of finding greater knowledge.
However, as the years passed, the corrupting influence of the dark arts took its toll on Malachar's mind. His pursuit of power grew increasingly obsessive, and he became increasingly unhinged. He began to disregard ethical boundaries and even experimented on unwilling subjects. His insatiable thirst for forbidden knowledge and violent tendencies led to his expulsion from the Dark Practitioners.
Now isolated and consumed by Madness, Malachar's descent into darkness reached its climax. He started experimenting with powerful spells that seemed to twist the very fabric of reality. The once-brilliant mage began to view himself as a deity, believing he could reshape the world according to his chaotic whims. His mad ambitions set him on a destructive path, leaving only devastation in his wake.
