Description
Limingar is a fair-sized settlement, run by a powerful mage. I’ve been told that the current leader is a high ranking member of the Dark Practitioners. I have no evidence to dispute that claim, yet I have no reason to be skeptical. The town is broken into many slums all crowded together, surrounding a large mansion that is reserved for the leader and their staff. This has led to an influx in crime in the city, with a criminal network taking root, drawing in a great number of dark arts users.
History It is rumored that in the early years of its existence, approximately year 120, it was run by a more “traditional” warlord. However, the settlement changed in the year 199. Xaneth Bivalder visited the town and made himself popular, showing transmutations that even the most powerful mage there could not replicate no matter how much they tried. The criminal network in the city attacked Xaneth in the hopes of acquiring the methods to his grand magic, which he shared. Years later, Xaneth and his followers went on to discover even greater power, and some dark arts users returned to Limingar. This led to the usurpation of the former warlord, as the Dark Practitioners believed that the warlord was weak compared to their newfound powers. They had made a grand show of his execution, using horrendous magic that had never been seen before. This caused the populace of the city to fear these mages, so much so that they unwittingly formed a class system of their own with the mages at the top. From there, the leadership of Limingar has been passed down to mages the former leader has trust in, or at least as much trust one mage can put into another.
