The Theory of Weird - the philosophy of Dial Sojourn

The following dialog represents what many claim is the genesis of the philosophy that underlies the modern world. Dial Sojourn is credited with the ideas.

Dial: "So like, did you ever think about Magical Girls? Like, really think about them?"
Fisal: leering "All the time, mate."
Dial: "Don't be crude. Man, this shenroot is the good stuff." inhales deeply, holds it, releases "I mean, like, it's weird, you know? Why would a patron chose a single girl to do this job?"
Fisal: "Patron? Oh, you mean like, the person who gave them a power."
Dial: "Yeah, it's inefficient. If I wanted to stop a villain with mysterious powers, I'd get a task force together. Not pick some random bint and give her a magic wand. We already got wizards."
Fisal: "Isn't there some kind of worthiness?"
Dial: "Yeah, but, worthy for what? These patrons just get to decide what is best for protecting the world."
Fisal: Inhaling, coughing, pounding chest "Who cares, it works don't it?"
Dial: "That's what's weird! It works! It shouldn't work! It's risky and absurd!"
Fisal: "And cool!"
Dial: "Granted."
Fisal: softer "...and sexy."
Dial: long silence
Fisal: "Sorry."
Dial: sucking in smoke again "So what if that's the key?"
Fisal: "Key?"
Dial: "What if being weird is the key?"
FIsal: "What now?"
Dial: "To why it works! What if everything happens in the weirdest way possible?"
Fisal: "Uh..."
Dial: "It makes sense, doesn't it?"
Fisal: "I'm not sure it does. Lots of things are weird."
Dial: "But that's my point. If it's weird, it's what works."
Fisal: "What about that sculpture Phillip made? That was pretty weird."
Dial: "It's not the same."
Fisal: "Why not, mate? Weird is weird."
Dial: "Phillip's sculpture was dumb. That's why it fell apart."
Fisal: "So weird but not dumb." long inhale, slow exhale
Dial: "Yeah, that sounds stupid. So it must not work. We need another example to figure out what it is."
Fisal: "Toejam's pretty weird."
Dial: "Can you take this seriously?"
Fisal: "I'm not sure you are, really."
Dial: sighing "Ok, fine, Toejam's gross. So it doesn't fit."
Fisal: "Makes sense." pause "The Jewel of Eae-Nirin a weird little jigger."
Dial: "Is it even real?"
Fisal: "Yeah, man. I heard some professor dude got it in the library."
Dial: "That is weird."
Fisal: "Right?!"
Dial: "So what do we know about that thing?"
Fisal: "Stories say it can do lots of stuff."
Dial: "Yeah, lots of cool stuff."
Fisal: snoring
Dial: "Dude!"
Fisal: severely distrubing snorts "Uh. Sorry. What were you talking about?"
Dial: "The jewel of Eae-Nirin. It's weird, and it does cool stuff."
Fisal: "Yeah, mate."
Dial: "That's the key, dude. It has to be weird and cool. This whole world is just based on everything weird and cool!"
Fisal: "Coooool."
Dial: "And weird." long inhale
