" I was running late for my meeting with Tingni Demetria and The Trade Imp does not like tardiness. I arrived at his house 10 minutes late for my meeting, knocked on his door and was greeted with the same elf butler as usual. Something was different from the other meeting however, I was late. The elf ushered me into the office and closed the door and locked it. This was very concerning. Tingni was setting in his beautifully crafted chair like always but instead of working he was merely waiting. Waiting for me. I was shaking with fear as I sat down but not sure why. I sat started apologizing for my tardiness and trying to make excuses to make myself look better as soon as I sat down. He did not reply. He just stood up walked over and pulled out a knife. All he said was " you made me wait and time is money so I need compensation, you will give me a finger for every 2 minutes you made me wait." I knew I had no choice. I put my hands on the desk and let him take 5 fingers. Then we got down to business, I got the gold and approval I needed to start my business and he got a contract saying that I owed him 33% of my earnings. I will never be late for one of my meetings again."

Personal history

Born and raised in Gilrint during one of the hardest times in Gilrint's history, Tingni had to grow up fast and learn even faster. Tingni's mother died during childbirth and this caused his father's mind to break. Tingni's father was the trade organizer at the time and after his mind broke Gilrint started to follow. After 20 years of trade being organized by a broken man, the trade deals started to break down and the economy started to collapse. Gilrint was on the verge of falling into chaos. The Lehrer family and the Argov family had had enough and put a bounty on Gnonzit Demetra with the reward being whoever killed him and brought them his head would take the Demetra families place on the triumvirate. This sent Gnonzint into hiding along with his son Tingni. Tingni was still a child by Gnome standards but knew what had to be done. Tingni waited for his father to fall asleep and one he had Tingni killed his father with his own dagger and sawed his head off with it. Tingni snuck back into the city through the sewers and presented the head of his father to Darcassan Lehrer and Orestis Argov. Darcassan and Orestis were stunned. This young gnome had killed and beheaded his own father to keep his family in the triumvirate and fix the trade deals and alliances that his father had started to erode. From that night on Tingni Demetra was the head of trade and had earned the title "The Trade Imp"
