Cabarchia is an Absolute Monarchy with the King as the Supreme Ruler; succession upon the King’s Death falls upon his Eldest Living Heir. If the Eldest Living Heir is a Woman then she shall be the Supreme Ruler “The Queen”, her husband however shall not be eligible to hold the Kingship of Cabarchia, he shall be titled “Supreme Lord Protector”. The King’s wife is titled “Queen” of Cabarchia and is co-regent of Cabarchia, In the case of the King’s absence, due to Infirmity, War or Matters of State, the Queen holds Supreme Office. If at the time of the King’s Death, the rightful Heir is not of Age and the Queen is alive the Supreme Office is to be held by the Queen until such a time as the Rightful Heir comes of Age, at which time the Rightful Heir will occupy the Supreme Office. If the Supreme Office is held by The Queen, and her Rightful Heir is not of Age at the time of The Queen’s Death then The Rightful Heir shall be titled “The Supreme Regent” and shall rule with the tutelage of the Royal Magistrate and of the Supreme Council of Lord Protectors, until such time as the Supreme Regent becomes of Age.
The Royal Magistrate is appointed by the King and holds the Magistrate Office at the pleasure of the King and can be removed from that office at any time at the King’s discretion. The powers of the Magistrate are set out in the Act of the Royal Magistrate.
The King can consult, at his discretion, with the Supreme Council of Lord Protectors in order to rule Cabarchia in a prudent and wise fashion. The Supreme Council of Lord Protectors is comprised of all the Lord Protectors of Cabarchia. Every three harvests a new First Protector shall be chosen by the Supreme Council of Lord Protectors. The First Protector’s powers are set out in the Act of the First Protectorate.
Cabarchia’s territory include several provinces, provinces are administrated by a Council of Local Nobles headed by a Lord Protector, The Lord Protector is elected at time of the death of the previous office holder, if the council fails to elect a new Lord Protector by the next moon, then one is appointed by the King. While the Seat of Lord Protector is vacant the Province shall be administrated by the Provincial Mage. Provincial Local Laws are created by the Council of Local Nobles and must not contradict Cabarchi Royal Law enacted by the King.
Cabarchi Colonies and Annexed Lands are individually ruled by a Colonial Captain. The administration and laws of Colonies and Annexed Lands are set out by the Supreme Council of Lord Protectors, and are supervised under the Office of the Colonial Overlord. The Colonial Overlord shall be a member of the Supreme Council of Lord Protectors and appointed by the Supreme Council of Lord Protectors with the advice of the Royal Magistrate. Colonial Captains are appointed by the King and can be removed from that office at any time at the King’s discretion.
