Pillars Of The Ecliptic Plane

The result of an unusually dense nebula slamming against the heliopause of both stars in the system, the most dense columns of this dark cloud have managed to reach all the way up to the ecliptic plane forming regions where it is dangerous for vessels to cross making it tricky to transport goods between the main star and the red dwarf. Bomb propelled Orion craft have no issue getting through the cloud. Anything powered by nuclear thermal or chemical rockets however cannot get through the dense, turbulent globs of gas without being blown severely off trajectory.   Composed of gasses, organic molecules and silica particles. The silica particulates are speculated to be the source of the large streaks of lightning in the cloud.   There are no natural bodies which call this cloud home. Habitation here is only inside of man built stations which perform maneuvers to keep consistently hidden inside the cloud from the rest of the solar system.

Geography

The exterior of the pillars facing towards little red and the main star glow vibrant colors due to ionization of the gas. Further down the clouds are said to be pitch black with minimal visibility, often stated as being like a "black fog".

Fauna & Flora

The clouds are surprisingly filled with bacteria.

Natural Resources

There is said to be a chemical very similar to alcohol present at a low ppm concentration. It is said when gathered at high concentrations it gives off the smell of raspberries.
