The House

All members of the guild are marked with a tattoo of a playing card for their rank (upon becoming a blind they receive a die, at big blind they are given a second die), they receive a new tattoo for each rank they get. These tattoos are only revealed once they speak a code word to prove that they are a member, otherwise the tattoos are usually invisible. The tattoos are usually enchanted to be invisible until the code word is given, after it is given they are visible for about 30 seconds, and then they become invisible again. The enchantment can be removed making them always visible, although it is unusual to see anyone below the rank of a seven have their tattoos visible at all times. The Aces each have an item that gives them a magical sight that allows them to view any hidden tattoos at any time. It is also said that as they get higher in rank the tattoos they are given also have magical properties but that has not yet been proven true.

Structure

The House has an intricate system of rank, following a deck of cards, Suits ranking, Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts, and Spades. The Aces are highest, with there being only 1 Ace at any given time, and “2”s being the lowest, with usually about 13 at any time. The rank is also based off of suit and number so a three outranks a two but, a two of spades outranks a two of hearts and so on. Each suit specializes in a different kind of job, Bedlam and Numbers jobs typically go to Diamonds; Heist and Burglary/Shill jobs go to Clubs; The Fishing, and Sweep jobs go to Hearts;and the Spades are assassins. “Dealers” are informants, and “associates” of the guild but not actual members of the guild, whereas “Blinds” are the names given to the initiates. Big Blinds given to the ones that will be next in line to become a member of the guild and, Small Blinds are the ones that still have to prove their worth. It is also said that at the top, leading the whole thing are two Jokers, one “red”, one “black”... whatever that means…
