Andor

Andor is a country on the Golur continent located on the western side of the continent. It borders Basta to the north, Ochia to the east, and Harf to the south.   The majority of the land in Andor consists of forests, but also includes a small portion of the main plains to the east and a small portion of the great swamp to the south. The forests are mainly inhabited by Elves. While there aren't many other races within Andor it is not uncommon to see a dwarf, human, or lizardfolk every so often. Despite the country being relatively small compared to Harf, Ochia, and Basta, Andor has a great number of inhabitants. This combined with the high magical aptitute of the elves has lead to Andor being one of the most advanced countries when it comes to magic and magitech, second only to The ancients (although they have long been extinct).   Andor consists of the many elf races, each specialising in one of the magic schools that exist and being situated mainly in their own city, although the many races do travel between the cities.   The cities and races are as follows:   The capital is Aegis and is inhabited mainly by the High elves. The high elves specialise in Abjuration, shielding their city from hostile forces and sending healers out to the rest of the nation to help whenever necessary. Aegis was chosen as the capital due to the high level of defence the Abjuration school of magic can offer providing a safe pace to rule the rest of the nation. Due to the immense focus of the High elves on defending their city and thus on the defensive aspects of the Abjuration school, Aegis has not been successfully attacked during any point of its existance.   Iquar is the city of the Light elves, who specialise in the Conjuration school of magic. Due to the many different capabilities of the Conjuration school of magic the Light elves are often deployed in the different cities to provide basic necessities to people that need it. The Light elves are also often deployed alongside the High elves for disaster relief. In addition to this the Light elves play a major part in the military due to their ability to summon other creatures to fight for them as well as their ability to conjure natural phenomenon to harm or disrupt their enemies.   Mel is the city of the Sky elves, a race of elves specialising in Divination and often seen as airheads to a certain degree. Many Sky elves get lost in their own predictions for weeks at a time, living in some form of double life where they perceive both the present and a possible future. Due to this they are not often deployed in military or disaster relief efforts. However in the rare occasion that they are deployed in such situations it means that such a Sky elf has proven themselves to be an exceptional master of the school of Divination and often fills the role of an advisor. Although the Sky elves are not often deployed in the main efforts of Andor, they do play a massive role in the security of Aegis and the nation as a whole. This is due to their ability to sense threats before they arrive and their ability to commune with other forms of life effectively to gather information.   Encik'Reloseer is the city of the Water elves, who specialise in the Enchantment school of magic. These elves often have a wide variety of career options, but the most prominent one is working as the support faction of the military. Due to their innate ability to strengthen allies and weaken enemies they are seen as an invaluable asset to the military. Aside from the military the Water elves are also often employed in the legal system of Andor, using their many forms of enchantment (such as zone of truth) to investigate crimes and, in the case of war prisoners, interrogate.   Uskeche'Von'Zair is the city of the Wood elves, who specialise in Evocation magic. The Wood elves make up the bulk of the military might of Andor and Uskeche'Von'Zair is consequently one of the largest cities due to the demand for Wood elves. Due to the many different destructive options within the school of Evocation there are very few Wood elves that do not eventually end up in either the military or national defense in some way.   N'Quor is the city of the Dark elves, who specialise in Illusion magic. Dark elves are often deployed to disrupt enemies either on friendly or hostile territory. They excell in infiltration missions and setting traps which often ends up with them disrupting enemy supply lines and communications. Especially gifted Dark elves work within the military to use their illusions to destroy the morale of the enemies or cause their enemies to relay false or overblown information.   Mormhaor is the city of the Ghost elves, who specialise in Necromancy. Ghost elves got their name due to their unusually white complexion, which resulted in them getting shunned during the early days of Andor's formation. These days the Ghost elves run a specialised force within the military whose goal is demoralisation of the enemy by reanimating fallen enemies to aid the elves.   Alura is the city of the Stone elves, who specialise in Transmutation magic. They often play a role in the logistics of not just war, but the entire nation in general. Due to their ability to tansform matter and reality to what they need they have proven vital for running the nation and are thus employed all throughout the nation.     Andor itself is built as a meritocracy, where the more you're capable of doing the more authority you'll get. On top of this military efforts are valued incredibly high within the nation, with political efforts being a close second. The nation devoloped this way due to the constant wars that Andor has been in. The war with Basta has been going on for centuries, but has mostly resulted in both nations using automated machinery to keep the war going. While Andor is using their magical superiority to create automatons to fight their part of the war, Basta has used their mechanical knowledge to construct their part of the war. Due to the difficulty of creating these automaton for Andor, they are only very rarely used in war efforts outside of the one with Basta.   Andor is currently at war with both Basta and Ochia, and is soon starting a war with Harf. These wars are coreographed by Arc Tzul to realise their dream of resetting the world to resurrect their species after it was destroyed during the magic disaster.
