Valindra Shadowmantle
Valindra Shadowmantle was an Overwizard of the Host Tower of the Arcane and Master of the North Tower responsible for the Brotherhoods operations in the northern quadrant of Atera. Later she became one of Szass Tam primary agents outside of Thay, and became an important player in the politics of rebuilt Neverwinter.
At some point after 10 BTS, she went to Chult under the orders of Szass Tam to investigate an artifact called the Soulmonger. Her mission was to take control of the artifact or, if that proved to be impossible, to destroy it. Valindra was aware of the intervention of some adventurers in her plans, and she was ready to use them to achieve her goals.
She befriended a member of the Soulless Era, Dent, who convinced her to help in the destruction of the Soul Monger.

Personal history
Valindra never felt the same respect for community that other moon elves shared. She grew into a self-absorbed individual who cared little for anything that wasn't connected to her own interests or goals. Valindra prided herself on her intellect and would rather talk her way out of a fight than blast an opponent with magic. That said, she wouldn't hesitate to kill or maim an enemy if the situation demanded it. Her arrogance, however, made her prone to underestimate her enemies.
As a lich, she was described as strong-willed, deeply ambitious, and utterly ruthless. She believed the ends justified the means, and because of that she allied with Szass Tam on her own free will. She also became reckless, almost suicidal, because she believed that while her phylactery was in safe location, she was almost immortal.

History
Dent was the only one to understand, the only way to be able to interact with Valindra is to not get on her nerves. She is not the social type, at least she wasn't before she became the godmother of Dent's kids. The kids just call her Aunt Valindra, and she loved it. They melted her undead heart. Slowly, but surely, Valindra grew accustomed to the more social sides of life.
History
Valindra saw Acererak as a rival, who she had to defeat in order to become a demilich. Even though Acererak didn't really care for Valindra at first, she tried to defeat him and even destroyed a few of his phylacteries. Acererak tried to kill her afterwards, but Valindra teamed up with the Soulless Era.
