Dorloch ((Door-lock))

Dorloch is a gargantuan lake that is situated at the top of a group tall hills in Eastern Taleirm. 
It's water is nearly as murky as the tales told about it. From mischievous and malicious púca to the dully glowing fish that call it home. There is no shortage of myths and stories to hide the truth that resides bellow it's surface. 

Unique Geography

  Dorloch is indisputably the largest lake in Taleirm, coming in with an area of 2,000 kilometers squared (1,243 miles squared).
Due to it's murkiness no one knows just how deep the lake is. The stories and myths that surround the lake vary, some saying that it goes down for kilometers and others saying that it is only a few meters deep with an abyss bellow it.

A Dangerous Ecosystem

  The ecosystem in Dorloch is not very well studied. Those that wish to study it are often turned away by the stories or are stopped by the nearby village people of Doraile, who do not want another person going missing. If they are so foolish as to ignore the village people or just outright avoid them, they will pay the price.
The ecosystem that is there does not like being watched, but is not against a bit of mischief.

Strange Phenomena

  Dorloch has many strange tales told and as such many things about the lake are exaggerated or embellished to create false supernatural phenomena. However, one phenomena that remains certain is that Dorloch has no outlets. Despite this it manages to take in the water from the rain and the small streams that feed it without getting any bigger. The opposite is also true, if there is a particularly harsh summer it will not reduce in size.
No one knows how or why this happens, as a result many people turn to myths and stories to explain its strange properties.

Doraile

  Doraile is the closest village to Dorloch, residing on one of the Northern most hills of the region. 
Its people know of all its myths and stories. They have had many of their own go missing after being too curious and have witnessed many more researchers from afar disappear along with their research.  
They have a patrol of people who travel around the lake to chase away well meaning researchers to keep them safe. This only earns Dorloch an even worse name, despite their best intentions.
