Circles of Hope

The Circles of Hope were the cycles of plenty, with bright days and restful nights, and Hope's Doom was but a decoration which crossed the sky once every so often; Arcen was released from Brandara, the monsters were all but extinct, and the Guardians walked among the Lost, using their Divinity to protect the people from the situation that Arcen had made in His rage, and to help them regain their lost glory. The nearly extinguished species rebounded so quickly under the care of the Guardians and had so few worries from the extent of the Guardians' aid that the Lost forgot what it was like to be afraid for their existence. That is, they forgot until the Fall; the violent end to the Circles of Hope and beginning of the Return, when the monsters they had believed to be legends emerged from hiding to satiate their long dormant hunger for bloodshed, bringing the mended Urn with them.
After the Rebirth– the Resurgence after the Circles of Doom– the Circles of Hope began and reigned for nearly 19 circles, the golden age during which the Guardians stood watch over the calmed world, the weather was temperate, monsters fell into myth, and the Doom was little more than a decorative hole in the sky. The Lost picked themselves up and moved on from the devastation of the Circles of Doom, returning to civilized living, rebuilding their knowledge of the universe, and, by the Return, they had advanced technology significantly.

Arcen Withdraws

Freed from His shattered urn-prison, Arcen hastily abandoned Brandara,

Magic of the Divine

With their belief that they had to remain separate from Brandara dispelled, the Guardians descended to the planet and walked (or flew) among the people; they gave of their Divinity freely, teaching the Lost how to commit simple signures, and how to bind signures to objects for later use. This mix of magic and a relative golden age led to a magotechnological boom.
