Semper Vitae
Those British who could afford the Shi de Mort crystals show it off as a sign of affluence and social standing, and are always competing to show off their inner mechanisms in ever more subtle yet grandiose fashions.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Bipedal humanoid creations, Semper Vitae are constructed from steel etched with gold and pearl decal. Powered by a smaller, refined steam engine hidden in their chest.
Biological Traits
Semper Vitae are in essence immortal as long as they can afford to replace their worn down parts. Due to the fact that each Semper Vitae is designed to the exact specifications of the owner, and that each one is changed differently to keep up with different fashions, no two bodies are the same.
Genetics and Reproduction
Once a human is able to afford it, they are sold a chunk of Shi de Mort crystal to be worn on their possession at all times. By the time the new body has been completed, the owner will have died. Once the crystal has been connected to the new mechanical body, it takes but a few days for the dead soul to take full control of it's new body.
Ecology and Habitats
Semper Vitae are to be found only in the highest echelons of Britannian society, with only the most venerable of nobles or richest of industrialists having access to them.
Dietary Needs and Habits
While Semper Vitae do not require food to survive, they do need constant upkeep and repairs like any machine.
