Jaime Lannister

Lord Jaime Lannister (a.k.a. The Bold Lion)

Jaime Lannister is the son of the late Lord Damon Lannister Lord of Casterly Rock and former lord Paramount of the Westerlands. He is the twin brother of Gerold Lannister. During the Great Blackfyre Rebellion he, along with the rest of the Lannister family supported the claim of the usurper Daeron Falseborn having fought in his name at the Westerlands.     After King Daemon I Blackfyre ascended to the throne at late 196 he determined that nearly all houses that fought against him were to send their heirs to be in King's Landing as royal wards, to guarantee their families loyalties, Ser Jaime was the ward delivered by House Lannister .     Soon after arriving at King's Landing the king placed Ser Jaime in the City Watch, serving directly under the Lord Commander. After the death of his father Jaime became Lord of Casterly Rock, relieved of his duties in the City Watch and placed in charge of a retaliation force against the Ironborn. Jaime defeated and killed the criminal knight Ser Forley Swyft shortly after inheriting his lordship.   At the command of a large force composed of forces of many lords of the West as well as ships from house Hightower and House Fossoway of the Arbor Lord Lannister commanded the taking of the Iron Islands, and the destruction of Urrigon Greyjoy, who had declared himself King of the Iron Islands. His competent command led king Daemon I Blackfyre to name Jaime as his Warden of the West

Apparel & Accessories

Jaime is seldom seen without his gold and red right gauntlet, shaped like a lion's paw, it is made of fine castle forged steel plated in gold.   Jaime wields the Valyrian Steel sword Red Rain, he took it from the last lord of House Drumm after their defeat in the second sacking of Lannisport.

Mental characteristics

Sexuality

There are rumors that Jaime and his best friend Florian Fossoway are in fact lovers, due to how often the two are seen together, according to some even sharing a cabin during the Iron Islands campaign, such rumors are not helped by Jaime's apparent disinterest in any sort of female company so far.

Employment

Jaime was employed at the City Watch of King's Landing for close to two years.

Accomplishments & Achievements

In one of his first actions as a lord, Jaime was able to track down the criminal known as The Mad Clucker who had evaded capture by house Reyne for two years, the two men had a duel in the mines of Castamere and Lannister emerged victorious. His bravery and prowess when facing the outlaw earned him the nickname "The Bold Lion".

Social

Contacts & Relations

His relation to his liege lord, Rolland Reyne, is tense and borderline antagonistic and it grew even worse during the Westerlands campaign against the Iron Islands.   After killing the Mad Clucker he won the gratitude and respect of Lord Clarent Crakehall who had sworn revenge on the man, Crakehall acted as one of his main advisors during the conflict against the Ironborn.   During his time at King's Landing Jaime befriended Florian Fossoway and both men quickly warmed to one another, becoming close companions and been frequently seen together, their close friendship has led some to say Jaime and Florian are lovers, but never to Jaime's face.   Jaime had Robyn Ryswell as a squire for two years, during which both men developed mutual respect and a good rapport.    His vassal, Lord Viserys Plumm is a close acquaintance and Lucamore Plumm, the heir of West Orchard is Jaime's current squire.

Family Ties

One of Lord Damon's last acts before dying was arranging a bethrotal between Jaime and Rolland Reyne's widow daughter, to try repairing the relations between the families, Jaime had shown no interest in actually marrying the girl, and decided to wed Lady Joanna Prester.   Jaime's twin brother, Gerold, was married to the heiress of Riverrun, Lady Edwyna Tully and had two children by her.    Jaime has two younger sisters, Joanna who married Prince Daemon Blackfyre and Cyrenna, who is wed to his vassal Lord Jason Bettley.

Religious Views

Never showing great interest in the Faith of the Seven, Lord Jaime converted to the religion of the eastern god R'hllor shortly after being granted the title of Lord Paramount. He showed his devotion to his new god by building a mighty temple in its honour in the city of Lannisport and changing his banner to include the fiery heart of R'hllor as well as the Lannister golden lion.
