Paero

A small city on the other side of the mountain ridge. It is famous for it's llama herders and the brewery. It is a popular spot for beer lovers. Its Hanša team won the Mountain League seven times and participated in the West Coast Circle Cup once, ranking 11th out of 30 teams. A harvest festival is held every year in late summer, just when the rainy season has ended.   Notable people from Paero are:   Leo P - Hanša player, currently playing for the Ihakālē Dolphins Ramona K - Actress Luna U - Author

Government

Mayor Tomas is currently in charge of the town. Before that the town was without any leadership for almost 50 years. Due to the nature of their culture a "leader" is barely ever needed and serves more as a spokesperson than someone who makes up laws and controls them.

Defences

Pareo used to be surrounded by a city wall but since there haven't been any wars for a whole century there was no need for defences anymore. It can still be accessed by several stairs and is a popular spot for teens to hang out on but is maintained only rudimentary.

Industry & Trade

Pareo mostly exports llama wool and beer. It gets its metal from Ha'ouli and other goods from Wahani. Since Pareo is so specialised it relies heavily on the surrounding settlements for import and the roads to these settlement are exceptionally well maintained.

Infrastructure

Paero has a rudimentary bus system that connects it to the other cities and villages around it. It also has two elementary and one secondary school, which is specialised for agriculture. Not far from the town is a small temple and in town are several small shrines.

Assets

Pareo has one general good store, a butcher, a shoe store, a comic store and a sportsgear store. It used to have a two story electronics store but it had to close after only one year. There is also a gym hall open for the public, where also the sport teams practice and a bowling alley.

Guilds and Factions

The closest to a Political Party Pareo has is the Neighbourhood Friends Group, a group of parents who meet once a week to discuss local happenings and keep an eye out if problems should arise in town. If there are problems they are discussed with "the mayor" and then made public so a solution can be found.

Geography

It is build right under the east side of the mountain ridge, opposite to Ha'ouli, which is on the other side of the mountain and below Wahani, which is build on a level clearance about 500m higher.
