Mortician of Astillier

An incredibly important position within Eld'Henge. The mortician is responsible for following the proper procedures and rituals to prepare someone for resurrection, or to lay someone to rest. Failure to follow these procedures typically leads to the individual reanimating in undeath, and also with the summary execution of the mortician by the Astillier Council.

Procedure

To prepare a body the mortician has to follow four procedures:

1. Drain all life water from the individual by place an incision from the halfway along the left side of the neck, drawing across until halfway across the right hand side. At this point, it is important that individuals marked for Rest receive a full severing of the spinal cord. After the incision is complete, hang the individual upside down to allow the life water to flow freely out of the body. Special care is to be taken with Resting individuals so that the weight of the head is held.

2. After 2 moons, not before and definitely not after, rest the body carefully on the embalming table. Prepare roughly six liters of blessed water from ███████, or another non-evil god with a sizeable following. ████Inject, once into each femoral artery, one and half liters of blessed water. Into each brachial artery, inject one liter also. Finally, in the left external jugular, inject the remaining mixture until blessed water runs clear from the incision.

3. Under the open sky, perform the Sanctus Verbis and, once complete, draw the symbol of ███████

Failing to do any part of this ritual, one should immediately retrocede to total body destruction through fire.

Failure of Duty

Failure to correctly follow the procedure will result in the body undergoing extreme degradation and putrification. After three days, the body will begin to rise in temperature and will start to reorientate remaining organs, muscle and skin. This results, on the third moon, in the body twitchingly reanimating a zombie.
