The Eye

Marked by a large circular spire, The Eye stands proudly on the north edge of Ceros. It is more of a campus than a singular building, but the main spire is crafted from predominantly from marble, reaching towards the heavens and acting as a lighthouse for all of Ceros. The Eye was made to withstand the hardships that come with island residency. Even the smaller buildings are sturdy and the outer walls are stacked marble bricks. It is considered the safest building in Ceros and has been the evacuation center for the city since its construction. The campus is multipurpose. As the headquarters of The Windcaller's Guild, it is home to a large population. Large enough, in fact, that it is almost a city all on its own. There are dormitories for initiates with crafting areas and classrooms. There are rooms for Windcallers that are currently residing in the city as well as rooms for those that are simply back in town for the time being.

Purpose / Function

The Eye serves as a home for all Windcallers as well as the basis of their ability to find their way. It acts as a place where a Windcaller can always return, seek refuge, and retire to, if they feel so inclined. Once a Windcaller has succeeded through their trials, they will always have a place at The Eye. They are expected to return to help teach Initiates there and if they choose not to retire elsewhere, when they are at the end of their travels, they are welcome to find home there as well.

Alterations

It wasn't until nearly fifty years after the founding of The Windcallers Guild that the addition of a standing guard was created. Prior, Initiates were expected to guard and stand watch as part of their training. In modern day, these duties are delegated to the Storm Guard. As such, a guard barracks was added to The Eye as well as training areas for the honing of more martial abilities.

Tourism

The Eye grounds are open to the public. People will often come and go; visiting those that they know that might work inside the campus. Inside the spire proper is off limits to non-Windcallers. In fact, non-bonded are restricted from entrance into the spire and the punishments for violating that restriction can be very severe.
