Honey Cake Festival

"I swear to you." Kalen stated; lifting two fingers to the sky by way of oath. The girl flashed a winning smile and turned her mirth glittering gaze upon her companion. Dylia hadn't quite believed her the first time, but she was determined to introduce the other woman to the sweet decadence of the Honey Cake Festival. As they moved down the wooden bridges, their clogs tapped lightly and their light, finely woven robes swished softly.

"My word." Dylia paused in her procession; her eyes widening to the size of gold crowns. There were brightly colored stalls lining Lule's wooden walkways and the sweet smells of honey cakes made her stomach protest her decision to skip breakfast. "Have you ever.. seen so many sweets...?"
Lule's Honey Cake Festival is world renown, though it wasn't until recently that people started traveling to attend. The Festival is characterized by the seemingly endless booths and stalls of festival games and sweets. People have started to travel long and far to sell their sweets at Lule for the Festival and see what might be available or possible in the nature of confections. It is home to one of the most heated competitions in Belios, The Queen Bee Beauty Pageant.

Execution

The Honey Cake Festival takes place over the course of four days. Day one is dedicated to set up with large family dinners being the capstone. Day two is considered the day of fun. There are numerous activities and games played from ring toss to fish games where the competitor might win themselves one of the brightly colored fish to take home with them. Day three is the real show. This is when people compete in food competitions and the Queen Bee Beauty Pageant kicks off. Day four is reserved for the closing ceremony where the Queen Bee is crowned and the winners of other competitions are given their prizes.

Queen Bee

Lule's Queen Bee Beauty Pageant is likely the real reason that The Honey Cake Festival draws so many tourists. This competition is a celebration of the female mind and form. It is launched with academic displays of prowess, followed by grace demonstrations, and culminates in a hand to hand tournament.
