Lord High Wizard

The Lord High Wizard of Taersi is not one to be trifled with. Not only is he one of the most powerful arcane spellcasters on Bastarre, he also has the favor of the Archfiend Asmodeus. It would be wise to avoid the country altogether unless you have no other choice if magic is your talent. You might just find yourself being forced to choose between recruitment in the ranks of Taersi's arcane ranks, imprisonment, or even death. If you're lucky enough to be given a choice between the three, always choose death. It's by far the least torturous choice.

Left-handed, his posture is always quite straight. He has a habit of drumming his fingers slowly when feeling impatient or in deep thought.

He is one of the most accomplished arcane spellcasters on Bastarre. He is adept at most magic, and has spellbooks that contain some quite rare spells that he is not inclined to share with others.

Personal history

Aevaz was born to parents who were minor nobles. His father was a wizard who taught at the School of Arcane Magic in the capital city of Stelnar, and his mother spent most of her time cultivating a network of contacts to put them in better standing. When Aevaz was eight, his mother gave birth to his sister, who the boy found to be an unpleasant distraction.
Aevaz got little attention from either parent, and paid little attention to his sister. He spent his time reading, his favorite subjects being magic and history. His tutors were quite impressed with his intelligence and quick mind, and he soon surpassed their expectations. His parents finally gave him permission to study on his own after the tutors explained that he was surpassing their ability to teach him.

Education

He was chosen at the age of seventeen to be mentored by the Lord High Wizard of Taersi at the time. He spent much of his first five years in the leader's personal tower, studying and researching for long hours every day, giving himself little respite from his studies. After those five years were over, he was allowed to attend council meetings with his master, although he was expected to remain quiet and only listen. His ability with magic and his sharp mind prompted the Lord High Wizard to promote him to council member when Aevaz turned twenty-six.

Accomplishments & Achievements

He attained a place on the Arcane Council when he was only twenty-six years old, which was quite unheard of. His mentor was the Lord High Wizard at the time. He worked his way up the ranks in record time, and when the head of the council retired, he chose Aevaz as his successor, much to the dislike of the other members of the council.

Intellectual Characteristics

His mind is very logical, although he can "think outside the box" well enough when the need arises. He thinks quickly on his feet, having a knack for changing strategy without wasting valuable time.
