Booktown

Booktown is a riding of Armada, also known as the Elven Quarter or the Clockhouse Spur. Booktown is adjacent to Garwater.

Description

Booktown is inhabited and ruled by elves, who took over the running of the Grand Gears Library from the riding's previous rulers in a peaceful coup upon their arrival over a century ago.
Somewhat dull-colored elven statuary decorates the riding, and guard-sister trios emulating their deities protect its decks.

• Aronnax Lab - A factory ship in the Booktown riding. It is covered in metallurgy workshops, refineries, gas depots, and Krome Plaza.
• Compound Dust - A former clockwork Mercy Ship in the Booktown riding of Armada.
• Corrosive Memory - A galleon in Booktown riding, Armada. It forms part of the Grand Gears Library. It had a deck containing children’s books.
• Dancing Wight - The Dancing Wight is a ship in Booktown riding, Armada. It forms part of the Grand Gears Library.
• Duneroller - A "fat old gunship" in Booktown riding of Armada. It has come to be known as a back-alley neighborhood of wizards and apothecaries. Sometimes Remade citizens come here to undo or mitigate their perpetual physical punishments.
• Pinchermarn - A ship in Booktown riding, Armada. It forms part of the Grand Gears Library. It was shelled and holed by a dreadnought from New Crobuzon, "sending hundreds of library books flaming into the water."
• Psire - A ship with a restaurant in the Clockhouse Spur riding of Armada. It is a large archaic steamer refitted for industry and cheap housing. It is the largest ship in the Clockhouse Spur, although it is uncertain whether it is the flagship. One of the five ancient chains that was holding the harness of the Avanc is tethered to its base.
• Severe - A massive clipper in Booktown riding on Armada, connected to Garwater by Taffeta Bridge.
