Intrinsically linked to the Magisterium the school is run by Phonicus. The school is run as a buisness with Electrum pieces being used to purchase access to school resources. Electrum pieces are not common currency and can realisitically only be earned from the Magisterium who has a bank vault stockpile. Magic users are well compinsated for their time if they choose (as most do) to take their salary in electrum rather than silver. Since electrum pieces are hard to come by their value to certain nobility has risen to around 1GP each. The richest of nobles travel very far to purchase magical boons.
