Basic Information

Anatomy

When consuming iron enriched foods, their bodies relocate the iron into their skin and nails causing their skin to grow tough and ashen grey as well as their nails grow harder and sharper.

They are born with a genetic mutation called Alexandria's Genesis, which means their eyes are always a violet hue. Some times when they consume too much iron their eyes will turn from their violet hue to a rusty dark red that would be reflective of light.

Genetics and Reproduction

Being of the shadow race, they share the same gestation periods as their Scintillate counterpart. They reproduce through sexual reproduction.

Growth Rate & Stages

They are gifted with a long life aging 1 year for every 100 years that passes. Depending on their race they live to be the same average lifespan as their Scintillate counterparts (Example: humans live on average to be 70-80 years old, a human oréal would live to be 7,000-8,000 years).

Ecology and Habitats

All Oréal's are born with Polymorphous light eruption (That cause Actinic prurigo), because of this they tend to only travel or come out during the night.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Due to their natural ability to relocate the iron in their body to their skin and nails, they also have Anemia. This means they must consume foods with high levels of iron.

Social Structure

The Oréal society is divided into Nobles, Aristocrats and the Artisans.

The Nobles are in a powerful position giving them authority, better living conditions, and other facilities over the other titles. They form the majority of their governing council. The Noble title is only given to the origin Oréal of their species. Only council members are allowed to take part of the blood ritual to extend their lifespans to unnaturally long times.

The Aristocrats are the descendants of the Nobles, usually forming the courts of the Nobles. They are often given titles to express their noble ties and bloodlines but they expire upon their death and they are usually still considered as “commoners”.

The Artisans are the descendants of the Aristocrats and have no influence or ties to the governing nobles. They are considered commoners among the Oréal races and will often find themselves seeking company from the Scintillate races over their own Shadow race.

Demographics

All nobles cannot tolerate each other's company for very long and will only gather under the necessity to perform the rituals to extend their own life. When they are not gathered, they can be found in their own autonomous areas surrounded by their own race. They are quite unwelcoming of other races and will never cross breed with other species apart from their own.

Varies between the racial tones to grey or silver. Their skin will morph into having an ashen grey or silver depending on the amounts of iron they consume.
