Tlaxcol

Along the northeastern edge of the valley, Tlaxcol blooms. This narrow and shallow dell is filled with a variety of flowers fed by the spring at the dell's origin. The stone in the region is unusual, ranging from a deep gray filled with red veins to a deep purple with blue veins. These colors seem to be associated with the colors of the flowers found here.   The animals found here are also unusual, as they seem to act with an intelligence beyond the norm. Many of the lizards observe travelers without fear, while birds keep watch from overhead. Otherwise, the animals act as they normally would.   The water from the spring is also a vivid green color, often obscuring itself within the grasses of the dell. If one were to drink the water, they would be surprised at the bitter taste, akin to coffee. Should a traveler take the water away from the dell, the bitterness subsides, but is no longer serviceable--one does not benefit from it for the sake of alleviating thirst.   Some visitors have reported sighting of a sprightly old man near the spring, but he disappears into the foliage when others get too close. It is suspected that he may be a spirit of the place, but does not interact with anyone, even if they harm the flowers or the animals.

Geography

Located in the northeastern edge of the Sacil Basin, Tlaxcol is a shallow dell formed by the runoff of a small spring. The northern edge of the dell is exposed hard stone that acts as a wall along which the flowers grow.

Fauna & Flora

Tlaxcol is the only location where the pantlui lizards can be found. This red and blue-striped quadrapeds lurk within the flowers, ambushing the insects that feed off the plants.   The most common flower found here is the emerald vase. These flowers trap small insects to feed, only occasionally staying open in order to spray seeds.
