Storm's Mistress
Drake had his ship, The Wayward Dragon, and as far as anybody else knew it was the fastest and most nimble of any airship. Deirdre had learned much from her brother. Though he could not power Lodestones, he was perhaps the most brilliant mind she had ever encountered when it came to engineering and artificing. She’d stolen enough of his work that her own artificers could piece together the key elements of his designs, and then adapt them to her exacting specifications. The result was nothing short of masterwork. The Storm’s Mistress was a blindingly fast and lethal vessel.
The thirty men involved in its design and construction had all met untimely deaths when the workshop where they worked inexplicably detonated and burned. Deirdre had chosen three men from among them to serve as crew. To bolster her entourage, she managed to recruit two Aluvians to her cause. Cas’ra and Vesh had turned out to be the most loyal, and most useful of those who served her.
