Vanguard

The Vanguard are a group of Guardsmen recruited to help combat the threat of the Order of Amaranth, following the destruction of the Binding spell. Lead by Captain Jessica Taran, a former officer in the Terent regiment, these Guardsmen have stationed themselves in the city of Terent in an effort to stop the trafficking rings that have sprung up, following the rumour that the Order are after a girl with golden eyes.
Lieutenant Helen Baker is the second in command, originally from the Lanaran Guardsmen, who joined the Vanguard after her sister was involved in the trafficking and her commanding officer refused to send her help to locate her. While they are capable of military force, they focus more on espionage and intelligence gathering.
The Guardsmen do not acknowledge them as an organisation and would seek to have them disbanded, if not for the turmoil they have to deal with following the breaking of the Binding spell.
