Blast From the Past: 'One-Shot' Campaign -- Session 2/3

Prime Contact: Orokin

Sub-Prefect J’jagen Klache recording       The battle saw the Stalker’s Rhino defeat the Chaplains’ Rhino. The Chaplains’ Rhino was only a vehicle. A thing suitable for blasting away in a crusher’s cumbersome way. It was only a mindless vehicle. The Stalker’s Rhino was mindless too. It was a vehicle in human form and inhabited by one man. He destroyed with far more skill than any machine on its own could do. He took the six Chaplains easily with only some help from the Stalker and I was proved a bad estimator of outcomes.
It seemed this newcomer did take some damage and he retreated to the safety of his star vessel. He had another suited one to help him that he called, Loki. Together they assisted the damaged Stalker to the Loki’s vessel, where he might be healed. They undertook a trip to the heartcore, where the stalker’s daughter had been taken by our foul, Chaplain brethren. This Rhino and this Loki made a plan together to invade the heartcore installation. They did not heed the fact that the Stalker’s daughter had already been moved off-world to our vessel, the Bird of Paradise. This information was let slip through our communications network. They paid no mind, this Rhino and Loki, these sons of the Stalker. They went into the heartcore heedless of worry, risk or reason.     Inside they found what they wanted and what they did not want besides.     The heartcore bears the marks of all those peoples that have been controlled it. There were the stone foundations of the Oagnis. A great statue of our own Brotherhood of the Hammer. There were the metallic, thinking machines of the Humans of Vortex -- things of worlds of these space-warriors -- and the workings of those Humans of Shrine Space as well – our space, the space of the Mainstay Worlds -- where the Stalker is known by the name, Ghostly. What he designed these space-warriors for or to do, we may now learn.
The Stalker’s children, the Loki and the Rhino, fought briefly with those of their own space. Then they began to interact with those of other realms. It might have been interesting to see which of these kinds were strongest. The truth will have to wait. As the founder Kade said many times, “The last fortress is Truth”.     My brothers were about to heed the alarms and the call of our master and bring violent pain to all in the heartcore when the creators’ representative stepped from behind the gates of pearlescent, golden creation. He called himself an Orokin, although I and my kind know this one as a Geli’Qys. The Stalker took his place at this one’s side. The Orokin was clearly the master. The Stalker welcomed his two children with words of spite and words of doom at his hands. The Orokin did not seem to care. He bided his time, conversing in amusement with the Oagnis-sons who were before him. His care was only that the daughter of the Stalker was safely transported into his care. The Orokin wanted only to stop needless destruction of his kind’s structures.     The call of my master faded. We stood down from our transmission beam platforms aboard the Rooster and the Bird. Our two vessels will now depart for our space, hidden within Shadow’s arms -- the shrine space where only Colour’s lens portals might allow entry, if not for the Canticle’s great engines. These engines give us the advantage of being able to traverse space. We have the daughter of the ghost-stalker. She, Lilieah will be our leader. We will overthrow the regime and she will be the leader of the a ‘New Supremacy’. My brethren will raise her up. I wonder if she knows her destiny already.     I wonder if the Stalker's children know their destiny. Will they cope with what they might discover? I know I would not be able to live with that Truth...
