The Man in Yellow, who maintains his identity under a long hooded yellow traveling cloak, showed up unexpectedly in the undercroft of the Church of St. Terragnis to help the Disaster Dregs. He evidently has access to high-level magic, as shown by his repeated use of teleportation spells. He granted the party a medallion capable of destroying the Books of Vile Darkness, and took them to the Tower of Inverness, where they were transported to the Shadowfell in pursuit of Ava and Jannes.
