Stronghold of the Nameless Prince

Overview

The remnants of a once mighty stronghold floats among the shifting sands of the The Sandsea in pieces. It is a curious relic from a period of history that is little understood: the transition from a time of calamity to our current era. They say that this castle was built and was the stronghold of a prince who used it as a bastion against the then chaotic world. It is difficult to see how a structure like this would have been possible to construct during its time to say nothing of what it implies about the nature of the Great Collapse. Perhaps the accounts are in error.

A Once Venerable Stronghold

Earlier records claim the castle to be quite large. More recent accounts claim it is quite small for a castle. This disparity in records could be due to ever changing standards on castle construction, but it is also possible that the constant movement of the sandsea have reduced the size of the castle over time. It is possible that at some point in the past the once large castle fragmented into several smaller keeps that are now scattered throughout the sandsea.

You never know what you may find in a place as incomprehensibly vast as the Oniruuru Desert. The sandsea in particular can surprise you.

Treasure of the Nameless Prince

It's not that the Prince who once lived in this strange castle had no name at all, but rather everyone forgot it. Nevertheless, as with all old and dangerous places there is said to be unclaimed treasure of great value. Getting the treasure from this particular castle would have two challenges for the ambitious dungeon delver: 1) it is erratically moving about the sandsea, 2) it is likely that it had fragmented so the treasure would be scattered among the castle's separated towers.
As for what this treasure could be? Gold would be a good guess. Some have claimed that the Unnamed Prince had amassed a secret armory in preparation for a war that was never fought.

The Nameless Prince

They say that the prince still roams his crumbling stronghold. An undead whose only remaining purpose in the world of the living is to guard his treasure. A treasure that must be valuable indeed to have formed a connection strong enough to prevent passage to the afterlife. The story seems dubious, though stranger things exist in Awldor.
