Mirror of Bardalm

It is curious that the elements of the land cannot disturb the mirror, but the touch of hand does. - Artur Neha, Traveler

Overview

In the middle of the Dulkėtas Dykuma lies a shallow lake that sits so perfectly still that it has become a perfect mirror. Those who have seen it in person say that it is like looking into a portal to another reality.   The lake remains despite desert storms throughout the year, and the falling of snow in winter. This strange phenomena has caused many to suspect that this lake is not made of water, but something else. Bardalm's Mirror is possibly a portion of some ether that has assumed the properties of a lake.

Phantoms in the Mirror

Those who have seen the mirror report seeing things in it that do not appear to exist in reality. Some have seen people they know, some have seen people they had yet to meet, and others witness even stranger visages.

Curse of the Mirror

If one disturbs the lake, a curse is brought upon them. This curse can take many forms: the breaking of precious equipment, gambles that backfire, and bedbugs.

Legend of Bardalm

It is said that Bardalm Juska was inspired to break ground for his new settlement of Oazė in 1200AGC after seeing it in the lake's reflection. He recalls how he saw in the lake's reflection a great city of tall towers, strong walls, and great trees. While it can be said that Oazė is on it's way to fulfilling that vision, Bardalm would never live to see it in person. He only ever saw it as a distant landmark in a lake's reflection.
