Concerning the Cosmology

The most common and agreed upon cosmological structure is the Realmstar cosmology. This chapter will detail the layout of the Realmstar cosmology and document many details concerning it's realms.   The Central Realm, commonly referred to as the Mortal World, is in the very middle of the cosmos, and the Midstar is the planet which being such as Men, Dwarfs and Faen reside on. Some people are unsure whether Midstar is round or flat (Faen believe it to be round, while Dwarfs do not, which has caused some issues). There are three continents between its oceans. Odránidir is a slightly northern continent home to the races of Faen, Dwarfs, Men and many others. Esin Dirna, the Eastern Lands, are mostly inhabited by the more civilized races, while Tuin, the west, is scarcely explored, roamed by ferocious beasts and monsters, not to mention many of the rogue dragons that defected from their more benevolent relatives. Colonies of Dwarfs live in the northern Thunderclap Mountains, and the kingdom of Suncairn is just south, taking up the small peninsula by the Ivory Sea. In the cold northern lands, tribes of barbaric men live in their realms they have claimed. There are other continents farther west. Trorah Dahniirez, the Land of Dragons, located in the west. No Faen, Dwarf nor Man has ever stepped foot onto this land. It is the birthplace and home of the Dragons. The continent is full of mountain ranges, valleys and plateaus. Just north of that is Skeo Dael, the High North. It is frigid landscape glazed with ice, and is the farthest land north. No creatures are known to live here due to it’s inhospitable arctic weather. To the south is Peculiar. It is a land of jungle and desert, as well as strange animals and occurrences. Wild magic tends to surge hear, mutating animals, turning them tiny or giant. There could appear to be a massive boulder, but the next thing you see is a slimy head with protruding eyes sockets stick out from the bottom of it. High up in the clouds are chains of massive floating islands, said to possibly be home to giants. It is said that people who travel here gain strange, magical powers for a time, and those who stay for long periods of time will permanently be imbued with sorcery-like magic. Some sorcerers and magicians have founds means to travel here. Farther south are the Unknown Lands, and possible continents that nothing is really known about, but is believed to be an uninhabited continent since it is so far out in the ocean. It was originally mentioned in some dragon runes that were discovered, but not much is ever mentioned about it, and no other runes speak of it.   Surrounding Midstar's atmosphere is The Expanse, an airless void full of shining stars, constellations and planets. It is unexplored by any race and is believed to be an impossible feat. Therefore, it is unknown how large it and how far it reaches, but it is widely believed that there are hundreds, if not thousands of solar systems similar to Midstar. It is also believed, however, that on the outskirts of The Expanse lie the Elemental Realms of the cosmology. Powerful magic wielders like conjurors can use magic to travel or banish creatures to these other realms by means of magic, but very few have. At the top point of the cosmology is the Life Realm, the Great Wilds of Ihrmathnil. This is the realm in which nature, fey and Faen originate from. It is a realm in which the sky seems to be cloaked in twilight during the day and pitch black during the night. The wilderness is unforgiving to those who have not learned it. It is roamed by many beasts and creatures whose intents are unknown. In this realm, one of the most powerful kingdoms is Tiyéldire. It was established during the Primordial Era, but the exact date is unknown. It expands along the south side of the mountains throughout the forest and dells. It’s capital, Ehr Tîan, is in the east. The city is built partially into the mountains and valleys, with high walls that act as barriers from the wilderness (hence the city’s name, which means “Nature Haven” or “Forest Refuge”. The city took hundreds of years to build. Atop the mountains lies Madíal Pahnor, the House of the King. Here, the king of Tiyéldire can watch over his city and the forests around it. Tiyéldire is the home of the Elder Faen, also known as Tiyélfaen. The Tiyélfaen are beautiful, immortal beings, who are very connected with nature around them, and their appearances are like that of the seasons. There is another branch of Faen called Qwynfaen. The live in the west, and their kingdom, Aeqwynadar, expands from Câna Irel to the islands of the Encircled Sea. They did not leave the Great Wilds into the mortal world, so no Faen that are known of have Qwynfaen ancestry. Fey have their own kingdoms as well. The gnomes live in Gnomedom, which is Survethegad in their tongue. The fairies and the nymphs have close relations, being that many fairies make their homes in trees or next to ponds. Their nation (if you can call it that) is referred to as Feygrove, which is Pihfmarh in their tongue. Nymphs do not have their own kingdoms, do to them just being spirits spread out all across the Great Wilds. They inhabit trees, rivers, ponds, mountains, and other places.   Going clockwise, the next point of the cosmology is the Air Realm, the Endless Sky of Razimtei. The realm does not have a lot of landmass, which is already inhabited by Cloud Giants, air elementals and other creatures. The winds are harsh and unforgiving, and can push off anything that isn't weighed down. Cloud Giants are slightly more intelligent than most giants, and found out how to craft air ships to sail through the realm with slight ease.   Next realm is the Fire Realm, the Scorched Inferno, Vior’s realm. This land is home to the Fire Giants, fire elementals and other flame resistant creatures. It is a rough place with little hospitality and much rage and fighting. Fire Giants will eat rocks and minerals for food. It is impossible for any normal creature to survive these conditions without magic protection. After that, there is the Earth Realm, the Mighty Heights of Alnirdur. The mountains and caverns of this realm are inhabited by Stone Giants, Earth Elementals and other creatures, and is where dwarfs originated before being moved to Midstar. Stone giants are more primitive, and domesticate what creatures there are in this realm for food. The soil is rich enough that food can be farmed, but plants and grass are very scarce in number.   Finally, their is the Water Realm, the Bottomless Ocean of Cezquen. The Ocean has no floor, and is diverse in life forms like fish and other creatures. At a certain point, no light can reach any farther down. The water is pitch black and full of unknown and deadly monsters, never to see the light. In the north of the realm, there is a land mass of thick ice on the surface of the water called Nuuntrorah. On this mass of ice live colonies of Frost Giants, who eat fish and whatever other creatures they can find that live on the ice.   Divnísir is the land of the gods and angels, and also the afterlife for men, dwarfs, and so on. It is a heavenly paradise of peace, joy and contentment. There is no more pain or suffering or sadness. People who devote themselves to a faith and have a strong belief in the gods will go here when they pass on. Each of the Immortals have their own realm in Divnísir. Yahnírr resides in his Palace of Light on the mountain at the edge of Divnísir.   Rángthûlcaz, The Pit of Fiends, also known as the Underrealm, is for the evil and sinful people and creatures of the world. It is home to demons, fiends and the Dark Lords, who each have their own realm where souls are punished for certain types of sins they have committed. Opraarzik, the Lord of Darkness, resides in his palace at the center of Rángthûlcaz.
