Rules of the World

What are the fundamental differences in the natural laws of your world compared to Earth?

  1. There is magic in Avaris. Different types of gems can give the wearer magical abilities, depending on the cut and placement.
  2. Every time you use this magic, you become less human.
  3. There are other-worldly creatures such as dragons which are semi-physical, semi- metaphysical beings.

Cosmology

How did this world come to be?

Before the rupture, Avaris was believed to be created by and ruled over by pantheon of gods, known as the the Ardors. Current belief is divided between those who think the gods have cleansed the land and those who think that they have abandoned it.

Geography

What does the geography of your world look like?

Avaris is riddled with deep chasms and craters as well as long mountain ranges. The land is largely in recovery from the rupture and there is sparse vegetation. There are many inland seas and rivers. There are a few coral forests and traditional forests.

Does your Geography have any special properties or features?

Avaris has entire chasms and rivers full of uncut gemstones. There are multiple active volcanoes and an errant water spout.

What is the initial size of your active campaign setting?

I'll begin by exploring the regions closest to Origin - an emerging kingdom - an the adjacent trade route and relations.
