The official coin of the Kingdom of Spakov

Due to the facility that many spakovians have to forge metal, Spakovian coins are made from the wood of Golden Red Giant Sequoia . The tree is grown in special, protected fields controlled by the state, and the coin is cut in a thin circular shape. On the coin equivalent to one gold piece the faces have represented in them the faces of the current Kings, burned into the wood. On coins of other values there can be seen dragons, the sun and famous kings and generals of the past. Other purposes of the wooden coins were so that due to its fragility and easy rotting in sea, other nations would not feel as tempted to attempt to raid Spakov for its coin where it made of gold or silver, and to discourage Spakovians from accumulating wealth so they could focus their energies on preparation for war.

Manufacturing process

The tree is uprooted from the fields and moved to the factory adjacent to it. Following, it needs to be cut with saws into trunks, then those into disks about 2 to 3 cm thick. Those disks are then cut into circular coins with special cylindrical, hollow saws. The coins are left to dry and cure for 6 months, after that the faces are burned into them.
