Circle of Avarel
An ancient stone circle untouched by time. At this spot, the gods are said to have created magic. The gods have created the circle as a neutral meeting place between them in times of conflict. It is forbidden for all beings including the gods themselves, to harm any living thing, while standing in the circle. According to legend, when you stand inside the circle, you can hear the voices of the gods. Some pilgrims have made the hazardous journey to the Circle, to stand between the stones. Many claim to have heard whispers, though none could make out what was said. Whether the circle was already there when the gods chose the spot or if they created the monument is unknown, this is the cause of many debates between religious orders around the world.
Architecture
Six huge stones are standing upright in a circle. Each of the stones is over twelve meters tall, and while grass surrounds the circle, none can be found inside. Each of the stones is marked with strange runes of which the meaning has long since forgotten. Surrounding the center circle are eighteen smaller stones, unlike the central stones these are covered in moss and vines. On the stones, though somewhat hidden by the foliage are pictograms, depicting six distinct figures, on some of the stones a figure is casting magic, while others depict a meeting between the six, these stones are widely believed to be a depiction of the creation of magic by the gods of the circle. Historians and mages agree that the outer circle of stones has been added later, after worship of the gods became more widespread and the circle was identified as the exact point where the gods stood when they created magic.
