Flight Dance
Flight dances are a near-universal tradition among Avani cultures during courtship between prospective mates, possibly straight from instincts. At their core it was probably originally intended as a display of physical fitness and agility, but since then it has become more elaborate and symbolic to those participating. It now is meant for the two mates to indicate to each other that they can be in near-harmony while in flight, and consequently in harmony of thought and emotion.
Execution
Flight Dances consist of the two participants, usually prospective mates sealing their courtship, taking flight in a natural location and performing a variety of aerial maneuvers. Many of these maneuvers are heavily based on visual acuity and flying accuracy. Often the two will perform acrobatics that are complimentary to the other's movements or copy the previous actions displayed by the other.
