Personal history

Trendall Allfallen is the eldest child of two. Originally from Hilgari to the north of the Empire. Both of his parents were traveling merchants who had to settle in Hilgari when his mother's pregnancy got to the point that they couldn't travel any more. After Trendall was born, his parents ended up staying in Hilgari, as they had found success as local shopkeepers.   For as long as he could remember, Trendall worked in the shop. Ever since he was old enough to see over the counter his parents had him down there, either greeting people or taking money, or stocking shelves. While Trendall didn't find his childhood horrible, there was a nagging feeling that he was being trapped into a certain lifestyle. As Hilgari was relatively close to the boarder of the Empire, there were always people who traveled passing through the town and the shop. All these people told stories of places that Trendall could only dream of, and as he got older and heard more and more of these stories, the more he started to express his desire to travel as well. However, instead of getting support from his family, his family started to impose stricter rules about where he could and couldn't go instead.   When Trendall was ten he started to work at the local tavern as well as his parents shop. This wasn't because he needed the money, but instead, he wanted to be able to spend more time with the travelers that were passing through Hilgari. Trendall learned a lot from working at the tavern, from swearing, geography, basic stories on how to survive in the wild, and what Trendall found the most enjoyable, various musical instruments. Trendall fell in love with playing music. He cold create worlds without ever having to leave the room. He could create emotions and control how people felt. To Trendall, it was like he was a god. It was through his musical abilities and his employment at the tavern that he met the person who would change his life: Allura Pungness.   Allura was a gnome who passed through Hilgari often on her travels. To Trendall, she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen. Of course, part of this was because there was a mysterious quality about her, as she had all these stories about different locations and places that Trendall only dreamed about. Trendall, both intrigued by her beauty and her travels, became obsessed with the gnome. He would spend all his free time with her, serenading her or helping her practice her survival skills. Trendall found any excuse to spend time with her, and at the same time learned a lot from her as well.   Eventually, Allura told Trendal that she was leaving Hilgari to head to Xolta. Before she left, however, Allura and Trendall spent a night together in heavenly bliss. That one night together changed Trendall's life. But, when Trendall woke the next morning, Allura was gone.   Trendall, who had just been fourteen at the time, started to grow more and more desperate for escape. Not just from Hilgari and the growing limitations put before him by his family, but also the pain of losing the first person he ever loved. Over the next three years, he would find himself in the bed of any woman who would have him, and he continued to test the limits of how far from Hilgari he would go before his family became angry. Finally, about a week after his seventeenth birthday, Trendall had enough. About a week after his seventeenth birthday his parents wanted to officially hand over the store. They had planned a huge party celebrating Trendall taking over the store, but the idea of being given something that was going to tie him to one place for the rest of his life was too much for him.   So, not wanting to be tied down to Hilargi any longer, Trendall packed his stuff, told his parents and his sister that he was leaving, Not sure where to go, Trendall headed off to Enyalin, which was the nearest city to Hilgari, only a few days away. In Enyalin, Trendall took to working in a tavern once again. He continued to play music, sing, and use his natural charms to get what he wanted, or to get out of trouble. But of course, his golden tongue didn't always work, so he would turn to his fists as well.   It was actually at the tavern he worked at in Enyalin that Trendall found out about a group that would change the direction of his life: The Lord Moon's Cirque. The group had come into the tavern, not just looking for drink, but for a place to try and stir up interest for their show. Currently, the only place in the mountainous area that was big enough for them to set up their show was in the cliffs between Hilgari and Enyalin, and business had been slow. So, they came into town in order to drum up business and to drink away their sorrows. Hearing about this traveling group of entertainers, Trendall immediately asked if he could follow them back and help out in any way possible.   The leader of the Lord Moon's Cirque, Tareyan, saw that Trendall had potential to really thrive in the show. After all, the boy was handsome, could play music pretty decently, and he could talk his way into or out of anything. Plus, Trendall's desire to travel made him ideal for the group of misfits. Knowing this, Tareyan gave Trendall a flute and told him to join a parade of performers that was going into Hilgari to help drum up patrons.   At first, Trendall was nervous about returning to Hilgari for the first time in four months, but he decided to go anyways. Going was probably one of the best decisions that Trendall has made in his life. Going with the parade of people meant fun and freedom from his family, plus it gave him the opportunity to show his family and friends that he was okay and enjoying life outside of Hilgari. To Trendall, it was liberating. Plus, he did like showing people his involvement with the Cirque, especially his younger sister, Novella.   Seeing how much Novella was enammered with the cirque, Trendall offered her to come with them. He took her from Hilgari to the Cirque a few days later, telling his parents that he would keep her safe no matter what. The two joined the cirque, traveling around the Empire until their separation in Melgate.
